i need to make a model for a class project and i would like to know what type of features a “green bulidng” has. And any other things i need to know about a “green home”.

Which type of construction is the best, straw bale or rammed earth or a combination of both? There are so many types of green construction to choose from it can be confusing. I really want to change our current life style and help make a positive impact on my kids and the environment. Is there a book or checklist that can help me make the right decisions from the start of this huge life changing project? We will still be on the grid and connected but feel we can still make a substantial change that is much better than our current consumer type life style.

I live in Ohio, I’m fascinated with the whole green Home/Business building idea, I’m obsessed with the Planet Green channel, and I know in the next few years demand is going to sky rocket. The problem is, I don’t know how to build houses, and do I have to go to school to build green. And if so where is the closest school?
