ISO 14001 is the only credible green certification
www.enviroaction.com.au/online
There is a lot of “green” marketing about at present because “green” has become the flavour of the month and in Australia the regulators have launched a campaign against what they call “greenwash”. You must be able to prove all green claims you make or be liable for large fines.
The international Standards organisation has 2 ways of certifying green. One is with ISO 14001 which is about the behaviour and practices of a business and its employees and contractors and the other is ISO 14020 which certifies product.
In Australia so called “Green product” is managed “along the guidelines” of ISO 14020 by a not for profit organisation called Good Environmental Choice.
If you are going to get your business certified, it needs to be by competent auditors and against a real standard so it is meaningful. I don’t find “along the guidelines” very meaningful! It sounds like greenwash to me.
ISO 14001 is the only creditable certification to establish your business as a real green business with real green practices. Don’t fall for “greenwash when there is a simple online training system that will help your business help the environment and increase profits.

The Go Green Home, by Fernando Feldman
The Go Green Home is a living laboratory of green design, materials and innovation. We’ve deconstructed an existing single-family home — taking it apart board by board, nail by nail–and donated and recycled 95% of it! We’ve studied the sun, the winds and the neighborhood, and incorporated everything into the design and build of our new home. Plus we’re greening it all — from solar roof panels to recycled content countertops in the cutting edge cook’s kitchen. We’ll take you with us, step by step, updating frequently with journal entries and photos of our progress. Visit www.TheGoGreenHome.com for more information!

GREEN ENERGY for a Developing World -3-
Green energy is the term used to describe sources of energy that are considered to be environmentally friendly and non-polluting, such as geothermal, wind, solar, and hydro. Sometimes nuclear power is also considered a green energy source.Green energy sources are often considered “green” because they are perceived to lower carbon emissions and create less pollution.
Green energy is commonly thought of in the context of electricity generation. A fuller picture requires appreciation of efficient energy use as well as mechanical power, heating and cogeneration. Consumers, businesses, and organizations may purchase green energy to support further development, help reduce the environmental impacts of conventional electricity generation, and increase their nations energy independence. Renewable energy certificates (green certificates or green tags) have been one way for consumers and businesses to support green energy.
