I’m a 17 years old and I’m studying National Diploma in Construction which I’m hoping will let me go on to study architecture in uni (in the UK).
So after I graduate from Uni, I’m hoping I can get a job as an architect in America. So if I do get a job as an architect there, how hard would it be for me to get a Green Card?
Once you are an architect and have some experience you should qualify to come to the US as a skilled worker.
You will need to find an American employer willing to sponsor you for a visa, that’s why you will need experience first. You have to show prospective employers here that you are better than anyone they could hire locally. An American employer will have to prove they can’t find anyone here will the skills and knowledge who is willing to do the job.
Once you get to Uni start looking for similar courses in the US and try to network with students there. It won’t do you any harm at all to start making useful contacts and while students you can contact may be a long way from having any influence over hiring you, you never know what the future will hold.
